Perched on a ridge overlooking a valley, the Amazon Emotions is a small-scale family run lodge accommodating up to 7 people in 3 conjoined wooden cabins. Faithful to their slogan "connect, protect, explore", the owners have made a point of excluding modern luxuries that may interfere with the authentic wilderness experience they seek to offer. The rooms are TV and Wi-Fi free, but are equipped with private bathrooms and flush toilets. The rooms are naturally ventilated (so no air-conditioning or ceiling fans) and the spacious balconies offer panoramic views over the forest canopy below. Meals are prepared with local produce in an open-air kitchen with wood stove – and enjoyed in good company together with the lodge owners. Apart from the main lodge, the Terra Floresta base camps offer guest the opportunity to spend one or more nights in the rainforest, in hammocks or tents.
